llms.txt

llms.txt is an emerging, not-yet-standardized convention: a plain-text file, similar in spirit to robots.txt, that summarizes a website for AI agents in a format intended to be easy for a language model to parse. Because it isn't a formal web standard, its absence isn't currently treated as a real problem by most audits — it's a forward-looking, low-effort step rather than a requirement.

Why it matters for hotels

Publishing an llms.txt is a quick way for a hotel to be ahead of an emerging convention, but it doesn't replace the fundamentals: a hotel still needs its robots.txt to allow AI crawlers and its structured data to be accurate, since llms.txt is a summary layer on top of those, not a substitute for them.
